Hello from Istanbul!

Well my bags may not have made it (me and about 10 other people), but I have arrived. We connected through Frankfurt and took a 3 hour flight to Istanbul. We were greeted at the airport by our tour leader Tosun and Professor Carl Holladay. We took a scenic bus tour through the city (an amazing city, very old, huge, lots of mosques). Then we checked into our hotel and took a walking tour of the city, including the Grand Bazaar, which makes Lenox Mall look like a 7-11. Now we're relaxing before dinner, ready to get to sleep. Hopefully my bags will arrive soon (we'll know in about an hour).
